Kelsey Cardamone is an alumna of California State University, Sacramento where she graduated with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Child Development and minored in Counseling. During her college career, Kelsey was a part of Sigma Kappa Sorority, the Sacramento State Dance Team and was also an NBA dancer for the Sacramento Kings. In her sophomore year of college she found the Miss America Organization, where she has held a local a title for three consecutive years. She was Miss Sacramento County in 2015, Miss Contra Costa in 2016 and is currently Miss Sierra Nevada 2017. Kelsey has had the opportunity to promote her personal platform of Alzheimer’s awareness throughout the state of California, and in the past three years has raised $15,000 for the Alzheimer’s association. To prevent Alzheimer’s in future generations she loves sharing her passion of dance to younger generations to encourage them to maintain a healthy life style, as well as gain self-confidence. To further promote her platform Kelsey participates every year at the Alzheimer’s awareness walk held at the State Capital. She has also volunteered at the various Assisted Living homes in Sacramento County for the past six years. Since a young age Kelsey has been passionate about dance, during the Miss Sierra Nevada competition she performed a dance to Rachel Platten’s "Fight Song", which she dedicated to her grandfather and everyone else dealing with Alzheimer’s. She has had the opportunity to perform in Disneyland and she has even been in a commercial for the Sacramento Kings. Next year she will pursue further education by going back to school for a double Master’s Degree in business and counseling. Her ultimate career goal is to become a marriage family therapist in the greater Sacramento area.
